Through five yearly magazines addressed to its members, the B.N.A. presents its research works steered, on the one hand : to the French occupation of Belgium between 1795 and 1814 and on the impact of conscription in these territories; on the other hand : to the evolution of the military world from  770 to 1870. Among its works, the B.N.A. leaves a large part to the human aspect of the epic and sticks particularly to the sidelights on history, these of simple people, who, with their legs, their blood, their sweat and their tears, have engraved on the pediment of History one of the most exceptional pages of history of all times.

From the fall of the Empire in 1815 till the end of the 19th century, the survivors of the epic attachment to the Emperor undying. It is mainly to all these faceless heroes, all these “no-rank” men, these “walk or die” men that the research department of the B.N.A. wants to pay tribute by seeing to it,  through its works, that one never forgets these thousands of men who have followed Napoleon on all the roads of Europe, those thousands of men, splendid in victory, moaning and rebellious in misery,  exceptional of abnegation in adversity.

Beyond this work of memory, the B.N.A. has given itself as a goal to make History understandable by all.  Its goal is not to relate once more the great hours of the French revolution, of the Consulate or of the 1st And 2rd Empires, no ! Hundreds of thousands of books, covering kilometers of shelves, have already taken Care of that. Its goal is, through anecdote and all days history, to invite its readers to a virtual trip in time the simple imagination of thought.

Because of these specificities, the Belgian Napoleonic Association is the only qualified society of  Napoleonic historical research in Belgium. Napoleon, First Empire, First Consul, 1815, battle of Waterloo, battle of Ligny, Great Army, Napoleonic Campaigns, Bonaparte, Beauharnais, French Revolution, the Directoire, the Consulate.
